Richard Wylde

Richard is the Director for Government and Defence at Control Risks, where he oversees risk and security engagements with governments and firms closely associated with government entities. With 28 years of experience in the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), Richard held senior positions in bilateral and security policy roles, including his final overseas posting in Berlin as Counsellor Political. He has extensive expertise in security provision and training for Western governments and firms, political and economic information provision, due diligence and market entry guidance for government institutions, major corporations, aviation, and defence companies. Richard currently serves as the Chairman of the UK's risk and security industry body (SCEG) and is actively involved in various trustee and visiting fellow roles, including the FCO's Pimpernel Trust and the University of Exeter's Strategy and Security Institute.
