Nakil Bieri

Nakil Bieri is a researcher specializing in OSINT investigations at the intersection of armed violence and international crimes. He is a member of Civitas Maxima, a network of attorneys representing victims of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Nakil was previously affiliated with the investigative media outlet Confluences Internationales and has contributed to research projects on topics such as small arms smuggling into Syria and networks of radicalized foreign fighters fighting alongside Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine. He has also worked as a consultant on a program addressing corruption and diversion in the arms trade in Latin America, a partnership between Global Rights Compliance, the Asser Institute, and the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS). He holds a BA from the University of Fribourg and a Master’s degree from the Geneva Graduate Institute.
